Many people we spoke to have expressed their interests in becoming a Professional Wedding Planner. They recognised that the wedding industry in Singapore is a growing and thriving industry and many also believed that it has yet to reach its full potential.

Many young people we met dreamt to be a part of this industry for various reasons. Some said they want to make someone's dream comes true for them on the most glorious and romantic day of their life. Others said that they like all things beautiful and being a Wedding Planner enables them to fully display their creative flair and satisfy their love for beautiful things. Yet others just wanted to fufill their childhood dream.

Whatever the motivation maybe, the young people certainly has a part to play in shaping and moulding the future of this industry. Why? They are essentially the generation that will be the biggest consumers of wedding products and services in the coming years. Rightly so, the wedding industry is about them. The industry needs to reinvent itself to continuously cater to the insatiable demands of the younger and new generation of brides and grooms to be. The brides and grooms today are well traveled, well connected and they have an appetite for different types of wedding.

Still, many questions remained for our young as well as those who are raring to take the plunge. Amongst all the questions that the Association has received, many were concerning the future trends and general direction of the Wedding industry in Singapore, what role can they play, what does it take to be a good wedding planner, how much can they expect to be paid, how can they be a part of this and will they be successful. These are relevant and important questions concerning the future of our industry as well as their career choices. The Association has therefore decided to answer the call by putting together a 2 days workshop that will provide straight answers to the not so straight forward questions.

We will debunk all the myths surrounding Wedding Planning as a career and at the same time provide answers to many burning questions concerning Wedding Planning as a career.

The workshop is designed to give the participants an insight to the technicalities behind wedding planning, which is aimed at giving them a more holistic and realistic view about what Wedding Planning entails without taking away the glamour and excitement of the profession itself. The main objective of this is to help aspiring wedding planners to make a more well-informed and discerning career choice.

At the end of the course, participants will:

  • Be awarded the Certificate of Attendance by the Association of Bridal Consultants which bears the prestigious logo of the Association
  • Be awarded 10 points under the Consultant Membership Point System
  • Have completed the Amercian Weddings and Business™ Module (valued at $895)
  • Given exemption from 1 module if they wish to continue to read the Certificate in Professional Wedding Planning course offered by the Association of Bridal Consultants (Singapore)
